Application security: bridging the gap between software development and information security

On May 10th next, Vincent Goulet, Senior Advisor in information security at In Fidem, is presenting a conference at the Association de la sécurité de l’information du Québec (ASIQ). An event you don’t want to miss!

Intended for information security managers, it will focus mainly on application security and bridging the gap between software development and information security.

Summary

Application security is a sub-domain of IT which has considerably evolved and grown over the past 25 years. However, between the top 10 vulnerabilities of the moment and the popular penetration tests, there are still a number of myths firmly anchored in the discipline.

This conference will help bridge the gap between software development and information security by dealing with:
– Major myths to deconstruct
– The importance of application security for organizations
– Solutions to consider to manage application security effectively

A speech by our adviser Vincent Goulet will be based on his expertise, developed mainly within a large public sector organization, in working with the BSIMM (Building Security in Maturity Model), a scientific study of application security practices implanted in several large North American organizations.
